Final revision

Personally I want as little taxes and as little government in my life as possible. I dont want the government spending my hard earned money and I dont want lazy drunks on welfare spending my money. I want my money. It is the governments job to provide for the people what the people can not provide for themselves, such as military, roads, police, parks. The governments job is to provide life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As stated in the Constitution of the United States of America. In the Declaration of Independence second paragraph it states that when a government becomes tyrant it is the responsibility of the the people to rise up and overthrow the government and create all the blessings of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  The government can be helpful and useful at times to pass legislation preventing harm to people or adjusting taxes to fit the public needs. 

A government for the people and by the people, meaning the public operate our government. Making our governments sole responsibility to provide for its people what they can’t provide for themselves. If the government starts to implement more programs, then they must raise taxes to pay for them. Personally I HATE taxes. It is my hard earned money. I despise paying for somebodies  laziness, or stupidity. Taxes can turn a successful government into a tyrannical one in the time it takes to have a tea party. If a government becomes tyrannical it is our duty as citizens to overthrow it as outlined in the declaration of Independence.  It is the job of the government to provide for the people what we, as people, can’t provide already. We can not let our government become tyrannical in this economic and social situation. Now more than ever we need to make sure we are being safe with our votes.

Taxes are the bane of my existence anytime the government starts to tax me more I get upset.  I work hard and I expect to be paid. Money is the reward of my hard work. When the government begins to take that money for its own agenda then i start to get upset. I understand that in  any government taxes are a necessary evil and must be paid. However if taxes become extreme and “big brother” seems to be stalking me, the government becomes tyrannical. When a government is tyrannical its people are unhappy, unmotivated and they lose all of their constitutional rights. Rights that the government is supposed to uphold and defend. So we as citzens must remember how to protect ourselves, and save eachother form a tyrannical government. 

 The Declaration of Independence outlines specifically the responsibilities of the people when a government becomes power hungry and loses best interest of the people. When the founding fathers forged the constitution they made it possible to overthrow the people in power. If the powers that be lose our best interest then we can vote them out of office. Should that become impossible then we can take matters through the courts. When the courts shoot down our claims then the aggressive action starts. Their is no law against the succession of a state form the union. Also the right to bear arms defined in the second amendment is there not so we can hunt but to defend ourselves against the government if necessary. As stated in the Declaration of Independence it is the right of the people to create a new government if the old one becomes tyrannical, just like our founding fathers did. 

The second admendment  of the United States Constitution says: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. We have that right no so we can hunt and defend ourselves (even if they are benefits of owning guns), but to rise against an evil government our own or another. Our founding fathers rose against a tyrannical government and that is what created the great nation we have today. They outlined how we are supposed to overthrow our government should the need arise. We should elect new people and  insure there success. If that does not work then we should take our cases to the courts, if failed there well…. our right to bear arms and succession form the union becomes necessary.

What did we learn this semester? In any life situation we can expect to learn  anything. For example if you go to a baseball game you can learn that the shortstop sucks. Or you can learn how it feels to lose somebody close when you go to the hospital.  For the purposes of this blog and this posting I will discuss what I learned this semester in English 1.

We started off the semester learning about MLK and some interesting similarities to President Obama.  I learned how to better write complete sentences and avoid fragments.  I feel I most improved in my sentence structure and paragraph building. Mr. Thorn showed some easy tips and hints to make a solid paragraph.  I learned the most form our post outlining. It is a great way to check your work as a math student checks his algebra.   It takes time but it helps your grade! I would like to use a post outline on my future writings for other classes.

Paper two we talked about our life experiences, and complints about the oppisite gender. This unit was very helpful to me because I learned about passive voice, something that was never really explained well, or at all to me. I dont feel I have a complete understanding yet but it is better than what it was before.  We learned its not all fun and games to be a lady and same goes for being a guy.

To end the semester, we learned about governments and various phliophies including plato and Marx. I had never read Marx. I still dont agree with his ideas but I do have a better understanding of what he wants. I wish we could of read more about capitalism. Im sick of democratic propaganda, I want to learn both sides fairly.

 Every government in the history of mankind has faced many problems and the leaders of free market capitalist countries have to face many problems too.  Free market capitalism relies on the public incentives. I believe some government interaction is necessary to keep the incentive going, such as taxing inheritances heavily  and making sure private companies are fair to employees and its consumers.

I think the government was right to bail out the financial industry because if they collapse then money would be impossible to come buy. America is a debt based economy and taking away the loaners would lead to massive destruction or our free markets. If people don’t have money to loan they wont have money to spend. I belive our government was wrong to rush the laws for the bailout because they did not provide guidelines for the spending.

 ”Bryan clean up your dishes”, I say in a joking but frustrated voice. This is a typical line in my house. Living with 4 guys can be fun but also stressful and annoying. I have discovered that searching for dinner in a moldy and dank refrigerator is like tredging through a mid evil dungeon. 

  Every other night another roommate brings over a new friend to show the house. I have to be on my best behavior, cause if I am not I appear to be the house jerk. After putting on an academy award winning acting performance I lock myself in my room, in recent months it has been my prison with out bars. When in my prison cell I can be my own person again, I am more free in my cell then in my “free” home. 

  Bills, from rent and electricity to cable and internet. I am responsible for all of it. Working a weekly paying job that usually does not pay well causes stress and concern that even the greek gods would condemn. I truly enjoy being self sufficient and supporting myself with no help.  It is part of the process of growing up and maturing. I know that one day I will be making double or triple what I am now, it is satisfying to know that I will be able to support a wife and kids.

My house has made me a responsible adult. I hope I continue to grow and mature. One day my experiences here will help me down the road. I am in a good place right now and I hope to continue to make it better.

Someday I want to get married and have a family. This house is a stepping stone for success. I want to use my expericence here as a way to learn what life is about. Life is a crazy journey, and planning and preperation is key to success.

Men. Why don’t you make any attempt to understand us, instead you make every attempt to belittle us and make us useless. I spend hours getting ready for a date. Doing my hair, nails, and choosing a pretty outfit just to look beautiful for you, later you have the audacity to show up in jeans and a tee shirt unshaven and smelly.

We women just want to be loved and feel beautiful. I understand that we women can be complicated and difficult. but did you realize that we have PMS and pregnancy breathing down our necks every month? We need your support and understanding. Why do you like beer and sports?

I am sick and tired of being expected to cook and clean and be a typical housewife. Im sick of wearing modest clothing. If I wear scandalous clothes you animals quack at me and treat me like a piece of meat. I just want to be happy. I will wait for my knight in shinning armour.

Hey yo. We roomates and men can talk very slang. You and me can be very lax in our communication. We need to learn different voice and tone to take to different aspects of our lives. It would hard to impress a lady talking like this. Also difficult to impress in an interview. Continuing to talk like uncivilized idiots is fun but unacceptable in public.

Final Paper 1

 America: a historic land of freedom and wealth. This is a land where the people govern and where change is ever prevalent. This is a land where a simple pastor can spring monumental change. However, when this country was formed many of its founders were indeed slave owners and racists. This was the very racism that trapped African Americans in despair for almost 200 years. Freedom was finally obtained after years of civil disobedience spurred on and capped off by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. African Americans were able to celebrate a political victory after the election of President Barack Obama, further showing how far the United States has come in the realms of freedom. Martin Luther King and Barack Obama gave relevant and important speeches, however Dr. King’s speech is of greater importance. 

When Martin Luther King gave his I Have A Dream Speech, black citizens were not allowed to dine in restaurants or drink the same water as whites. Through King’s speeches and actions, the slow process of changing the white mindset and bridging the race gap had begun. When Martin Luther King gave his I Have A Dream Speech, black citizens were not allowed to dine in restaurants or drink the same water. While Barack Obama has overcome tremendous odds, there is no comparison between King and Obama. Obama being the first African American president makes him an influential and historical figure. In his “More Perfect Union” speech he talks about unity and change, similar to to Kings “I Have a Dream Speech”. Time will tell with Obama’s “More Perfect Union” speech. Obama discusses a wide range of topics including political reform and a vast majority of Americans know very little about the speech compared to Obama’s other speeches. It could be lost in the catacombs of time or be chiseled in stone next to the Lincoln Memorial.

In the time of Martin Luther King speaking out against government and law was considering being socially deviant. King started movements and even trained blacks on how to spur change. The general white public never supported King in his actions and even tried to confine them. King spent time in jail for his innocent actions, his followers were sprayed with a high-pressure fire hoses, were beaten and hung.

America always listened to Obama and respected his word. When Reverend Wright dug a big hole for our president. Obama had to respond to the comments that Wright made. Obamas speech while inspiring was an expectation and was needed to give on the basis of public conception. If Obama did not respond to Wright’s hatred then crowds would assume Obama felt the same way Wright did, hereby hurting Obamas Presidential hopes. Not to mention, I never heard of democrats being sprayed with fire hoses and beaten for supporting Obamas causes, like Kings supporters were. There was very little physical risk involved in Obamas speech. Without King, Obama could have never dreamed of being President. 

Both speeches have significant relevance and include powerful suggestions on how to improve America. King has an unmatched throne in the kingdom of history right next to our founding fathers. Obama is on a path that could lead him into the same league as King, only time will tell. Maybe someday my kids will memorize Obama’s speeches just as I studied Kings speeches.

Our nation is one that has been founded on the basis that every man and woman was created equal and that they should be treated equal. That did even begin to happen until 1963 when martin luther king stated that men should not be judged by color of skin but by content of character. Martin luther kings speech was groundbreaking then its effects are still being felt today for many reasons.

Our nation is failing. When the forgers of the Constitution were drawing the famous document up they did not dream of the country we live in today. Though we have made progress and done lots of go0d things, with the state of politics and other contributor’s it seems more bad than good is happening. In my opinion political corruption will ultimately destroy our country like a snake eating a mouse.

Thesis:

I think that because of the way the ecomny is we should be looking into the future with grave concern because we are in a heavy and complex war, many business’s are failing, and the goverment is running out of money to spend.

Since the war against terrorism is draining the economy we need to begin pulling out of Iraq and strengthen our borders.

the thesis of an essay includes facts and can bring out emotions. I need to learn how to convey the my main topics and produce a quailty product by not being lazy.

Political corruption in many forms has begun to creep into our executive and legislative branches with the greed and coercion of a criminal. I believe drastic reform is necessary to save our country. Publicly funded elections in recent years have been bought by special interest groups that only have poor morals and only their interests at hand. When a candidate runs for office he must win an election to be able to take office. A proper election requires debates and getting ones name and policies in the publics mind. In recent years elections have been one by the candidate that spent the most money. So a candidate can ask people for money and promise their legislation and agendas will be approved.
